California (among other states) have defaulted on their tobacco bond loans that were created as a result of the 1998 MSA Agreement. California borrowed against the funds, which are based on cigarette sales and shipments. The decreasing number of smokers means less money for CA.
San Francisco bans all electronic cigarettes but haven’t banned combustible cigarettes. Traditional tobacco products will remain untouched by this legislation, even though they kill 40,000 Californians every year. Maybe this has something to do with it.
Now see if smoking amongst teens in SF doesnt rise right back to 2010 levels🙄
