The “Women in Balance 1955/1965 [Donne in Equilibrio]” exhibition is a tribute to Wanda Miletti Ferragamo, Salvatore Ferragamo’s wife.

Miletti Ferragamo took over the company at age 38 after the death of her husband in 1960 at age 62, which left her a widow with six children, the youngest only three years old: Fiamma, Giovanna, Fulvia, Ferruccio, Massimo and Leonardo.

Becoming head of a company from her role as a mother was a step shared by many women in that period, as they began to have a more active role in society. In the preface to the exhibition’s catalogue, Miletti Ferragamo said taking care of the children “was as far as women’s education went in my day. Now there was only one head of the family and the company: me. The challenge was to find a balance between the responsibility of raising the children and my new role in the business.

Biden fights current of soaring housing pricesIt's more expensive than ever to rent or buy a home, with prices spiking significantly over the past couple of years. Do what Canada did and stop corporations from buying homes for a while I understand inflation and understand the cost of renting and it’s issues. But curbing the profits made from buying and selling real estate because “it’s too high”. Come on. Let markets work as they are intended to work. Tell companies to stop buying house. Real people can not compete with companies that can buy with no appraisal, no inspection and paying way above asking price. This is insane
