William"Bill" Burger was an assistant principal at Spring Branch ISD's Cornerstone Academy. Police identified him as one of the victims in a February 2022 double homicide in San Antonio.A 20-year-old San Antonio man who surrendered to police after a gunbattle in a parking lot has been indicted on a capital murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of his parents, longtime educators in Houston-area public schools.
Michael Burger was arrested shortly after the shooting. Bexar County District Attorney Joe D. Gonzales has not said if he will seek the death penalty. Police Chief William McManus said at the time that the officer observed a suspect with an AR-15-style rifle and a shotgun duck between two vehicles in the parking lot.
