The veteran quarterback is the first NFL player in 70 years to defeat the same opponent with six different teams.

After being selected by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Fitzpatrick had to bide time before his first taste of success against the Jaguars, which came three years later when he steered the Bengals to a 21-19 win. Four years later, in his final season in Buffalo, he helped the Bills to a 34-18 win over Jacksonville, repeating the feat 12 months later in a Titans uniform as Tennessee defeated their AFC South rivals 20-16.

To put things into perspective, of the eight franchises Fitzpatrick has played for, the Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only two he hasn't defeated the Jaguars with—he was the backup quarterback when the Rams defeated the Jaguars in 2005 and the Bucs didn't play Jacksonville during his two-season spell in Tampa Bay.

On Thursday night, Fitzpatrick finished 18-of-20 for 160 passing yards and two touchdowns for a 133.3 passer rating, to which he added 38 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. It marked the first time since 2011 Miami scored in its first three drives, while Fitzpatrick completed his first 12 passes—a career-high. The win over the Jaguars was also the Dolphins' first double-digit win in 39 attempts, the longest such streak in the league.
