Flying has always been safer than driving. The only difference now is COVID, and science tells us that the airlines filter that out quite well. I'll still fly over driving - much safer.

This is the same issue with renting a 40' moving box truck to someone with no experience driving large vehicles. To rent or purchase these should require a certificate on your license because of how dangerous these vehicles are in the hands of inexperienced drivers.
