- Daniel Ricciardo blasted the “Hollywood” coverage of Romain Grosjean’s fiery Bahrain Grand Prix crash on Sunday and said he was disgusted by Formula One showing endless replays while drivers were waiting for the race to restart.
Grosjean was lucky to escape with his life after his Haas car speared through metal barriers, splitting in two and bursting into flames. Ricciardo said Formula One, whose commercial rights are owned by U.S.-based Liberty Media, was lucky it was not having to deal with a very different story. Asked to comment, a Formula One spokesman pointed to established procedures and protocols whereby replays of any serious accident are run only once race control has confirmed the driver is safe.Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas agreed the replays had been disconcerting.
I'm disgusted as well. Some MF thought it was funny to tweet a weird coded message about your crash and tie it in to my little flare up with basketball legend and NASCAR newbie Michael Jordan. Don't blame Ewoks or even Gremlins. Mercedes isn't innocent either. ABC gum is so lame.
Rightly so
That’s just ridiculous ,it is definitely something that should be shown and if they don’t want to see it-don’t watch it.
Is he new to the media? Bad news always gets the most coverage
Than don’t ever watch USA tv coverage of a massive motorsport accident.
