Regal Cinemas is set to reopen 11 movie theaters in New York State after receiving a greenlight from Governor Andrew Cuomo to do so from Oct. 23.
The reopening of movie theaters outside New York City comes with precautions in place as audiences will be limited to 25 percent capacity. The move also follows Cineworld temporarily suspending its operation in the U.S. and U.K. — which impacted 536 Regal cinemas in the U.S. and 127 Cineworld and Picturehouse in the U.K. — amid the coronavirus pandemic.
