Rachel Lindsay is speaking out after Hannah Brown's apology for singing the N-word.

As Lindsay told her followers, she didn't want to have to speak out on the issue, but felt compelled, especially after reaching out to Brown personally. Lindsay said she was offended by Brown using the word, but wanted to challenge her to use her platform in a"better way."

"It's easy to make a statement. It's easy to hide behind words, but when you're bold enough to say the N-word on camera, on your platform... then you need to bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize in the same way you said the word," Lindsay shared, adding she was"personally hurt and offended that I gave somebody the opportunity to do that, and it wasn't done.

Lindsay also said she was disheartened to see comments from people telling her to brush off Brown's behavior. "That word was used to make black people feel less than... and every time you use that word and you're not black, you give that word power, and that is why it is wrong," she explained."Non-black people should not feel OK about saying the word n*****. It's wrong."

I have an idea. How about every Artist that used that word in their lyric's loses all the currency they made off their albums? Because over 50% of the people who bought these albums are white! Yeah let's see how well that will go over.

For those of you who INSIST that anyone should be allowed to say the n-word because it’s in a song.. do some research and educate yourselves. It’s really not that hard. Don’t stay ignorant.

It’s a song for heavens sake. People need to calm down and stop blowing this out of proportion. It’s not like she directed it toward someone in a hateful way. If you don’t want others saying the word then stop using it yourself.

Why are you painting Rachel to be the villain with this title? And with the title of the article about Tyler on the same subject?

Shame on you, ET. Rachel did not slam Hannah. She calmly explained why it was offensive and that she reached out to Hannah to offer education on the matter. You deliberately chose to use a cute little pic of Hannah and a pic of Rachel looking ready to argue. GROSS.

Awful photo choices. Seriously? Why choose a candid of Rachel, looking unhappy, and a smiley red carpet photo of Hannah? And saying Rachel “slammed” Hannah when in actuality she very respectfully offered to educate her? It’s very clear what you’re trying to do here. Gross

“Slams” is completely irresponsible language and you all should be fucking ashamed.

lol hannah’s an idiot shock of the century

can we not use the word “slam” when all Rachel is trying to do is educate Hannah and others of why it is important for non-black people to not use such a vile word . letsdobetter

Hi! I disagree with the wording of this title. Rachel was incredibly gracious in her response and the word “slam” seems misleading and potentially harmful.

How do you apologize for stuff that isn't a mistake? America cut it tf out.

This is ridiculous! Who really cares?!. . it was a song!! The only thing it does is spark an explosion of hate on someone.. why is it ok for anyone to say the word? But, I'm just a white girl from Canada we love everyone equal🤷‍♀️

She didn't call someone the n word. She sang it in a rappers song. I don't get the problem. If the rappers want to make songs with the n word in them and people sing their songs then ... I don't get it.

If it’s such an awful word (and it is), why is it used in a song? They want all people to buy the music but not sing it? Stupid!

Hannah Brown..keep on singing..igore the haters.. We all say the N word...that's my nickname for my niece n she loves it, though she a Poly😊😊👏🏾👏👏🏻👏🏼

Oh and just because this is SUCH a controversial thing.....the next line in this song calls someone a bitch and its a male singer. Guess the media should be all over the artist for putting that kind of language in a song!!! I'm offended 😂😂 effyourdoublestandards

To quite Tyler C, “If you get defensive, YOU are part of the problem...” And that’s on that.

Then why is it ok for the rapper to put it in their lyrics?

All black people should also STOP saying that word also ! It’s should stop all together if change is wanted

The sad thing is we all know that Hannah Brown fans will still give her a pass because they don't really give a shit about black people anyways HannahBrown BachelorNation

maybe it’s time someone slams TheRachLindsay

Hannah wasn’t ever known to be very bright. So this doesn’t shock me. Still though, I’m disappointed in her.

Rachel grow up

Not excusing Hannah at all. She’s definitely got some learning to do. But TheRachLindsay dragging her on IG because Hannah didn’t do what she suggested & in the manner she wanted her to do it, wasn’t right. People make mistakes. We ALL have.

Of course she is. This has been blown way of proportion. Hannah was singing a song for god sake!

So it's ok for black people to say the N word and not ok for the white people to say it You should attack the idiot who invented the word N😊😊 I'm not white, everyone uses the word...listen

Give the example and stop using the nigger word every other sentence.

Was that HB singing Gold Digger again while looking for a man?

I just looked up the lyrics to that song. For one thing, I find it offensive and degrading to women. I don’t understand using the n word, ever. Why put it in a song and not expect people to sing it. I don’t understand that logic. It’s offensive.

Rachel should shut the f up. No one cares about it. Quarantine is already depressing leave Hannah alone

Rachel is right and if Hannah Brown knows not to say the F word in the song cause she’s Christian, then she understands not to say the N word cause she’s white. She knows better but chose not to do better.

Then she better get angry at most rappers who use the 'N' word all the time.
