The 58-year-old police officer was placed on administrative leave after running over at least one person and possibly striking others, according to a press release from the Tacoma Police Department. He had been with the department for nearly 30 years. The officer was not identified in the police statement.Two people were taken to the hospital following the incident, according to the Pierce County Force Investigative Team, which is now leading the investigation.

IMO if you stand in front of a police car in a threatening manner, the engine revs loudly and you do not move... expect the next thing to happen to be you getting run over by a police car. Having said that if the cop had done the exact same thing 12x slower, we wouldn’t be here.

Remember, it would not be a criminal offense to produce a weapon and defend yourself against any on duty, uniformed member of the TacomaPD that acts in a threatening manner or is using excessive force like the officers did here. No state or federal laws would be violated.
