A newly proposed Dallas ordinance, aimed at addressing the deadly April outdoor concert shooting, is getting mixed reactions from residents and event organizers.

DALLAS —

Harley Barnes, the founder of Lively Local Markets, a company that organizes pop-ups, markets, and festivals, went up to speak on the proposed ordinance, sharing his concerns with how quickly it’s being pushed.

The outdoor concert, which was held on an Oak Cliff private property, attracted thousands of people. Dallas PD says a fight led to a gun being drawn and shots being fired. Kealon Gilmore, of Oak Cliff, was shot and killed during the chaos. Uptown Dallas has been another district that’s seen a string of shootings take place in some of its more lively areas.

"You’ve said you’ve talked to stakeholders; yet, I’ve talked to so many that had no idea what was going on," McCullough said.

Dallas Koreatown shooting suspect arrested, police sayThere has been an arrest in a shooting at a Korean-American-owned hair salon in Dallas. It's an attack that was under investigation as a possible hate crime. I never recall Asian hate really being a mainstream thing until Trump vilified them for COVID. One man created an entire wave of hate.....sounds like a certain German man in the 1940's These damn guns I like how it’s only a possible hate crime when he specifically targets Asians. White guy with same delusional behavior targets black people in Buffalo and there is no possibility but only certainty.
