The leader of Minnesota's Catholics, Archbishop Bernard Hebda,this week that churches under his authority would reopen despite an order from Governor Tim Walz barring gatherings of more than 10 people.
When Jack Hibbs, senior pastor at Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California, asked Attorney General William Barr during a"pastor call" with administration officials this week whether the Justice Department would support California churches that were determined to reopen, Barr answered,"absolutely," and suggested that restrictive orders in some cases indicated a hostility to faith itself.
How churches will respond to Trump's comments is an open question. Many church leaders have chosen to cooperate with state and local health authorities in planning when and how to reopen.
Hebda should be thinking of the parishioners in his diocese, not sacrificing them to make some political point. Or does he just need the money that bad?

This is an opportunity for church leaders to protect the most vulnerable in their communities by encouraging people not to gather in church. Is it more important to outwardly display your faith than to do right by others?
This isn’t about God people just chose to believe someone who worships money. God has educated scientists who discourage gathering in this manner states have offered churches the ability to gather outside or small numbers. This is all about someone making votes & $ not about God.
