And they, like every person in America, have a choice about covid. If you are concerned, stay home and don’t go to class or sports. You are college aged people - make a decision and move on.
They are getting paid. They get free tuition, free tutors, free food, free healthcare & first choice of classes & the ability to prove they may be good enough to play at the next level in their sport. Student athletes get a ton of money & support. I know. I was one at D1 school.
Bringing students back to campus in the midst of a pandemic is a stupid idea and all about $$$
there shouldn’t be ANY athletics this season. schools need to figure out a way to have STUDENTS back at school....athletics is unnecessary in the whole scheme...it’s EDUCATION FIRST.
It hasn't gone well? Didn't see any mention of how many had been hospitalized. Severe Covid reactions among this age group are extremely rare. They're helping build herd immunity.
Let’s not forget that these are workers who aren’t being paid!
If any of them end up on a vent, let is know. They will not.

Players are getting Covid because they’ve been partying/going to bars but majority of them are asymptomatic. In Alabama, young people are throwing COVID parties & whomever tests positive first wins a pot of money. At this rate we’ll have herd immunity in a month.
shut this place down what is wrong with y'all. nothing has changed. there is not a vaccine, nothing has changed, if not what was the point last time, its not working, or we are just cool with killing off the vulnerable ?
