Staff Reports G.W. Long’s Carlie Davis singled home Kaylie Joseph in the bottom of the seventh to give G.W. Long an 11-10 comeback victory over Ashford in high school softball action in Skipperville on Tuesday afternoon.

Ally Whitehead, who was 3-for-3 with a homer and two runs batted in, was intentionally walked to open the G.W. Long seventh. Anna Claire Free followed with a double to put runners at second and third. Joseph then singled home Whitehead to tie the game.In addition to Whitehead’s output, G.W. Long got two hits each from Ansley Watson, Emma-Grace Carraway, Davis and Ella Kate Beaty with both Beaty and Watson earning a double and two runs batted in and Carraway and Davis with one RBI each.

Wicksburg 15, Samson 0: Ellie Cox threw a three-inning no-hitter, striking out seven and walking just one in facing 11 batters and added a single and one RBI on offense to spark Wicksburg in a Class 2A, Area 3 win over Samson.
