Poll: 56% Of Voters Say President Trump Does Not Deserve To Be Reelected

, all incumbents with an approval rating of 50% or higher have won while presidents with much lower approval ratings have lost.The majority of U.S. registered voters, 56%, believe Trump does not deserve a second term, while 43% say he does.

Gallup indicated the drop from 50% of voters saying Trump deserves to be reelected to 43% now could be because in January, confidence in the economy was high, only a few cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the U.S. and the Senate was set to vote to keep Trump in office after the impeachment trial. There was a clear partisan divide, with 93% of Republicans saying the president deserves to be reelected compared to 3% of Democrats and 36% of Independents. Less than half, 43%, of American voters approve of Trump’s performance compared to 55% who disapprove, according to apublished Wednesday, using interviews from 1,035 registered voters between September 30 and October 15.
