Until 2011, Vermont was the only state to not require residents to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm. Over the past decade, an increasing number of states have passed permitless carry laws even though law enforcement associations opposed it. Ohio passed this over a year ago and, to the amazement of liberals and journalists, the state didn’t erupt into the Wild West as they had predicted.
Such laws only affect those of us who already obey the law. People carry without permits all the time in California, Illinois, and New York, including teenagers. People undeterred by homicide laws don't care about permit laws.
The majority of US citizens oppose this. Law enforcement organizations oppose this. Nobody pays attention.
