-- Pedestrians enjoying their Sunday near Bryant Park were forced to run for cover as a car came barreling towards them.As CBS2's Astrid Martinez reports, the incident happened around 5 p.m. near 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue.
A newsstand worker said in an attempt to flee police, the driver of a red sedan veered off 42nd Street and onto a crowded sidewalk. The newsstand's security camera captured part of the incident. "Police vehicle was behind the other car, they try to catch him, but I don't know after that," the worker said.
According to police, a 29-year-old man was hit by the vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.They are still searching for the driver and the vehicle.Thanks for reading CBS NEWS.Please enter valid email address to continue
