Escalating trade tensions between the US and China call to question whether the giant pandas on loan to American zoos may be recalled to their home country.
Will the panda leases be renewed? That's the case for the US's lone adolescent panda, Bei Bei, who lives at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Bei Bei turned four last week and is expected to depart for China to enter a breeding program in the next few months, according to"Today." The National Zoo is one of just three American zoos that have giant pandas. The other two are Zoo Atlanta and the Memphis Zoo.
Hayley Murphy, deputy director of the Zoo Atlanta, would not release details on their current contract with China, but said"no changes" had been made to it.
People should be worried about the way China is treating people in Hong Kong iso fretting about pandas
This is not a story........These people have lost it
I’m okay with that. We do have the National Geographic channel
Boo hoo
Gotta love Democraps
That's because people are stupid.
What people? Names, please.
Ok...in return ...We want compensation for 30 years of stolen intellectual property.
Oh no, not that.
Sad to see them go
They can and we won’t have to pay for them to stay in our Zoo’s because they are on loan to the U.S. It’s been a while but the last time I read an article that said we pay $10 million dollars each for China to loan these Panda’s to us.
Oh no anything but the giant pandas.
Who the hell cares?
BS
Oh no, that will crush us! Surrender the country now!
Ok, can you pick them up tonight?
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Yeah, not even top 20. 🤷♀️
Oh brother. So, we cannot see a panda when we go to the zoo. The least of anybody's problem.
As they steal everything from us not nailed down , you worry about Panda No one is this stupid even NEWMAN
Are these creatures on loan or gifted to US? I'd trade pandas back in exchange for imprisoned journalists and resistance fighters.
'People'? How many 'people'? The pandas don't look worried to me. If they are let them apply for asylum like everyone else from a foreign country seems to do. PandaRights
What do the pandas have to do with anything?
Don’t care
Bye.
Not one of my top worries
Unfavorable trade is so worth it if we get idiot bears too dumb to reproduce.
Oh yeah!!! Come and get him
This is the stupidest tweet so far of the yr!! Just replace “Yahoo News” with “Yahoo Jokes” Pathetic!!
OMGod. You seriously just gave me the biggest belly laugh w this!! This is great.
Can they take back the fentanyl as well? Because a lot of humans are dying from that shit.
And?
Cool but I hope they leave us the medium sized ones though.
This is bad because....? Let people see pandas on TV where they belong.
Maybe China needs them to feed the 1Million Muslims they have in 'retraining camps'
Who cares?
TrumpHatesPandas
Bye ling ling. I dont usually even go there at the zoo
This article contains an error. According to the Washington Post article you cite (and pulled very, very liberally from) The panda lease is not up December of THIS year, but December of 2020.
'Gee, folks, I guess we're just gonna have to let the Chinese communists take advantage of us, steal our jobs & exploit our economy, b/c, you know, we just can't lose those giant pandas.' -nobody, anywhere, ever
Oh no! 😂😂😂
China should take back their pandas. It'd be awesome.
Oh, it’s on now China!!!!
Zoo keepers are worried, not the general public.
Oh no! Not the pandas!!!
nobody is worried about this ... nobody
Let them take their oversized raccoons back in exchange for not robbing our intellectual property, for not placing spyware and malware on our systems
Yahoo news...i didn't think MSNBC had any competition but I was wrong.
“People” 🤣🤣🤣
...are you serious?
Only complete morons are worried about this being a consequence of a trade war.
