Pennsylvania’s highest court extended the state’s deadline for accepting mail-in ballots, a move that could help deal with a projected surge in voting by mail but delay the determination of election winners in a crucial battleground state.
The state Supreme Court, in a divided ruling Thursday, said ballots received through the Friday after the Nov. 3 election would be counted as long as they were postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
