Arthur, the beloved PBS Kids series that is the longest-running animated children’s show ever, will come to an end next month after 25 years with a four-part finale showing “what’s in store for the future” of the characters as adults

Blumenauer, D-Ore., end their news conference to announce efforts to oppose de-funding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, including an amendment to the continuing resolution. on Wednesday, Feb. 16 , 2011.The four final episodes of the long-running series will air on PBS on February 21.

The characters will live on in a series of podcasts, digital shorts and interactive digital content, PBS announced, and the entire series will be available to stream on PBS Kids. The finale will be preceded by a 24/7 marathon of the series and its specials starting on Feb. 16 on PBS and streaming on PBS Kids. Key Backgroundtells the story of Arthur Read, a talking aardvark who lives in Elwood City with his parents and younger sisters D.W. and Kate. He and his best friends Buster, Francine, Brain, Binky and Muffy attended third grade for most of the series under the watchful eye of their strict teacher Mr.
