legend dropped a music video on Wednesday for his 1993 protest tune, "Looking For Changes."
The animated clip shows scenarios in which lab workers get tricked by the animals they are about to experiment on. Cartoon McCartney and his furry friends head over to Capitol Hill to demand government "changes in the way we treat our fellow creatures." that will continue the momentum of getting animals out of laboratories," McCartney said in a statement. "Experiments on animals are unethical—they're a colossal failure and a waste of time and money.
The tune comes after Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard, who is part of the congressional committee that decides funding for National Institutes of Health, asked agency director Francis Collins last month for a plan to reduce the use of animals in experiments. According to PETA, studies show that 90% of basic research used with animals doesn't lead to treatments for humans.
