The man had an apparent medical incident during the fourth quarter of the game, police said. Another medical incident also happened at the game, but was nonfatal.

Medics brought the man to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was pronounced dead just before midnight, the department said. An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the man’s exact cause of death. According to off-duty firefighter Anthony Colella of the Johnston Fire Department, he and fellow firefighter Mark McCullough of the Needham Fire Department helped a fan who suffered an apparent cardiac arrest about 10 to 15 minutes ahead of kickoff in Gillette Stadium’s new G-P Atrium.
