Justice Amy Coney Barrett bemoaned perceptions of the Supreme Court following an introduction by Mitch McConnell, who made the confirmation process hyperpartisan. ed_kilgore reports

Justice Amy Coney Barrett bewails perceptions of Court partisanship at the center named after Mitch McConnell, who introduced her. She was not struck by lightning. Photo: Timothy D Easley/AP/Shutterstock On one level, I suppose, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett is as entitled as her senior colleague Stephen Breyer to talk sanctimoniously about the purity of heart that goes into every ruling and opinion by every member of that august bench.

It’s also relevant that Barrett accepted two lifetime appointments to the federal judiciary from former President Donald Trump, the great scofflaw, who was more nakedly political and transactional in his treatment of judicial nominations than any president in history.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett argues Supreme Court isn't 'a bunch of partisan hacks'In the wake of a controversial decision on abortion rights, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett told a crowd of more than 100 here that she doesn't believe the highest court in the land is politically driven. both can be true, they are political (since judges are appointed by politicians because of their views) and also not political, because of rule of law / precedent / common law. Justice Barrett's statement is only partially true. In the case of the Texas abortion law it wasn't politically motivated. It was much worse. It was a ruling based on religion. Barrett concerned about public perception of Supreme CourtJudges must be 'hyper vigilant' to keep personal biases out of their decisions, said Barrett, who would not comment on the court's vote not to block Texas' abortion ban. 🙄🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥 That’s because that’s what the partisan politicians in Congress tell them all the time. The reality is our courts aren’t partisan and do their jobs. It’s too bad those in Congress don’t do theirs! She's worried about politicization? She was introduced by Mitch McConnell at the McConnell Center. The reason she was appointed to the Supreme Court was to overturn Roe v. Wade. She is a political appointment whether she knows it or not. She's a Manchurian candidate.
