A Texas family filed a federal lawsuit against their son's school district on Sunday, accusing it of discriminating against the boy by drawing on his scalp with a permanent marker in an effort to bring his haircut up to code.
That's when he was allegedly told that he would be put in school suspension or the line design in his haircut would be immediately filled in with marker, according to the civil claim. The lawsuit said neither the principal nor the discipline clerk contacted the boy's parents before taking action. "When it first happened, I was very upset because I didn't find out until after he got off the bus and he got into the car and said, 'Look what they did to my head,'" Juelz's mother, Angela Washington, told ABC's Houston station KTRK.
"They were very apologetic, but it still happened. … You know, for an adult, no one should think that's the correct way to handle a situation," the boy's mother added.
This makes me angry and disgusted!! Who raised these assholes?
That was extremely low for someone like a school official to do that to a student. -_-

Dress codes make up a significant portion of the bureaucratic bullshit in this world. It makes sense that something so subjective would be racist.

and where did these new standards come from i went to private type middle and elementary with a dress code and had LONG curly bouncy hair from 3rd grade till high school ...never once had a word said to me much less drawn on me... might be because im white... they wouldnt dare.🤡

How many parents really read every word of the student handbook sent home with the tons of other papers requiring a parent signature the first week of school? Was this truly about a dress code? If so, contact the parent. This so much deeper than a dress code.
