'With this statement, five of the world's most powerful nations came together for the first time in a pledge to avoid nuclear war, and this should still be celebrated.'

On January 3, leaders of the five nuclear-weapon states issued a joint statement on “preventing nuclear war and avoiding arms races”.

The January 3 statement should perhaps be seen as a very small, but still important, step in the right direction." In 2020, to mark the 50th anniversary of the NPT, members of the Stockholm Initiative adopted a set of proposals or “stepping stones” that aim to minimize the risk of nuclear weapon use, mainly through declaratory commitments. On January 3, the five nuclear states fulfilled this requirement by including a solid commitment to “nuclear war avoidance” in their joint statement.

Indeed, nuclear force modernization plans of all five nuclear-weapon states are moving forward unabated. Instead of slashing nuclear weapon spending, the Biden administration is planning to spend a whopping $634bn on operating, sustaining, and modernizing the US nuclear arsenal between 2021 and 2030.

U.S. intel suggests Russia is preparing a ‘false-flag’ operation as pretext for Ukraine invasionBREAKING: The US has information that the Russian government is planning a 'false-flag' operation to rationalize an invasion of Ukraine, a government official says. Americans love false flag operations. They even try to pretend actual events are false flags. So this should confuse the shit out of most Americans. Well is that really smart to be broadcasting that on Twitter? Wouldn't that be secret information? What the fuck is going on? Oh like Jan 6th?

Opinion | The Right-Wing Supreme Court's Appalling Decision on Covid Safety Rules'The Republican-appointed majority signals all health and safety regulations are now jeopardized.' NatalieMae31 This ruling is appalling! The SCOTUS is signaling the no protections approach to workplaces like they have in 3rd world countries. American workers in for rough ride. The American worker is merely so much protoplasm to be tossed out in front of the waves of COVID19 that sweep across the nation. The majority says workplace is to be seen as any other place people are in their daily rounds. Says they who don't have to cashier or pack meat.

Chick-fil-A's plans for New Jersey restaurant at rest stop face pushbackChick-Fil-A's plans for a restaurant at a rest stop on New Jersey's Garden State Parkway is facing some political pushback. So don’t bless people in that location with the opportunity to buy a delightfully good, real chicken sandwich. There are other places to open a Chic-Fil-A. I will never ever eat at a Chick-fil-A. I don't do business with bigots. It’s awesome - should be everywhere
