Once again, the Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge to the Affordable Care Act. The conservative-leaning court ruled Thursday that 18 Republican states did not have the legal standing to overturn the law. With only Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch dissenting, supporters of President Barack Obama's health care policy celebrated another victory.

Indeed, the odds of dismantling Obama's signature legacy at this point are increasingly slim, though conservatives will probably keep trying. Joining the ranks of other programs like Social Security, the ACA will remain the law of the land for the foreseeable future. Several legal challenges to it have now officially failed, as have political campaigns, most recently under former President Donald Trump, to repeal and replace. This is not a surprise.

This is how justices questioned the GOP Obamacare challenge 02:35Over the years, more workers were brought into the program and a greater number of legislators in both parties came to see the virtues of a social safety net for elderly Americans. julianzelizer Opinion I’m so confused, why are some Americans trying to get rid of affordable care for other Americans?

julianzelizer Opinion By conservatives u mean angry Caucasians?

julianzelizer Opinion ACA just sticks in the craw of the REPRESSIVE Republican party.

julianzelizer Opinion Just shows government can screw up anything.

julianzelizer Opinion Makes you wonder why the people who need the most are so racist they’d rather have no healthcare than allow anything Obama did to help them to remain 😂😂

julianzelizer Opinion Its not about 'the last laugh' it's about what is right and what is wrong. It's evil to pull out what others in the world consider a right to healthcare. Only in America do we have to suffer through this kind of thing. Even MEXICO has 'OBAMACARE' style service. WTF is going on?!

julianzelizer Opinion Conservatives politicians, I am at your side to replace ACA, but make it better, free and universal. Please, GOPs dear, do it. Remember free and universal.

julianzelizer Opinion The A/C/A has save countless of lives and family homes and business and will continue too do so long into to future.
