On the ashes of the attack on the U.S. Capitol and the conflagrations we can expect going forward, one of the most pressing questions we face is how to marginalize the pro-Trump rioters who terrorized the seat of government on Jan. 6 and restore the public's faith in democracy.

It's no accident that the mob carried Confederate flags and sought to nullify the votes of hundreds of thousands of African Americans in cities such as Atlanta, Philadelphia and Milwaukee." ranged from the uneducated to Southern elites. But in response to Brown v. Board of Education, the 1954 Supreme Court decision desegregating schools, they banded to deny Black people political power and maintain the post-Reconstruction Jim Crow order.

There are loud echoes between those who joined the massive resistance and the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol. It's no accident that the mob carried Confederate flags and sought to nullify the votes of hundreds of thousands of African Americans in cities such as Atlanta, Philadelphia and Milwaukee by baselessly declaring that President Donald Trump was the true victor of the presidential election.

THINK stopped all of those investigations and tried to kill as much of Johnson's 'Great Society' as much as he and the Republican party could get done. It has continued to this day.

THINK That is very true. We should have continued with the Federal Investigations and prosecution of those far right groups. Had we done so, maybe this would have all been over by now. Plus, as I have said, had Humphrey been elected this would probably have been done. Nixon stopped

THINK Yep. And prior to that we shouldn’t have pulled back from Reconstruction and supervision of the South after the Civil War and given rise to the KKK

THINK Believing in your dreams and working towards your goals is one of the best thing in life , stay focused and earn with Tonyfred42

THINK It’s difficult to stamp out an anti civil rights movement that the president is championing.

THINK The term white supremacy is a racist term! Race relations are getting worse due to the fact the liberals and the media are pushing to cause a divide in the people!

THINK Racism was not an underlying theme in the Jan 6 Capital Insurrection. Trump pitted the Radical Left Socialist vs the Radical Right free-for all Capitals. That was the main theme in THIS plot not racism. We need to stop injection racism into every major event it does not belong.

THINK well donald said there were good people on both sides... there are zero good people from white supremacists, racists.

THINK Images like those from the civil rights movement of people getting beaten, dogs put on them, hosed down with water cannons, etc. helped turn the tide, bring about more soc justice. Hopefully, the images for 1/6/21 will have the same effect & some will reject mob rule

THINK I remember that photo. Made me feel sick then. Makes me feel sick today,

THINK Republicans allowed themselves to be conned for decades by Fox News, who was willing to tell them what they wanted to hear, that government is the root of all evil, like RWR taught them. A con knows a con job when he sees it, Donald just jumped on to see how far he could ride it.

THINK Can you show us the color version of this picture?
