Record numbers of new cases were reported in India’s rapidly escalating Covid-19 epidemic. Meanwhile, villagers in Kashmir spotted and captured a “spy pigeon” with a coded message attached to a ring on its leg. As the code has not yet been broken, the pigeon’s mission remains unknown. opinion wrmead Somebody need to reminded WSJ that US did treat China as a natural ally against Soviet Union in the 'old' cold war...... later used Iran against Iraq.....US is certainly very good at helping its future 'enemy' grow.

opinion wrmead Only took USA thirty years to realise that massive industrial investment in a communist country building it up to be a Frankenstein monster instead of a democratic India in fact with out INDIA'S export of precious IT professionals Microsoft Google would probably not developed

Mansourtalk opinion wrmead If needed, We India can face China on our own in any battlefield & We are totally NOT interested in becoming USA 's Proxy to fight their rivals, be it China or any other nation.

opinion wrmead That will cause the excuse that the budget of Defense budget expenditure higher and higher, and the other side People's living standards are getting lower and lower.

opinion wrmead better ally than europe anyway

opinion wrmead In view of US ,role of india is attacking dog of us or chess peices of US .

opinion wrmead In view of US ,at current condition .Per capital of China & india can't pass USD5000 ,or it will be a threat to US ,then US will begin to contain them . not mention the so-called democracy .

opinion wrmead also ,India is too big to be enriched by US ,india isn't S korea ,isn't singapore ,isn't Taiwan .US can't lift india by aiding .

opinion wrmead Hahaha ,when india becomes strong like current china ,then us will attack india .not mention so-called democracy .

opinion wrmead democratic Indian???

opinion wrmead It is not in India’s interest to get entangled in the US-China fight. Both are untrustworthy countries for India.

opinion wrmead Such policy should face many and tough obstacles. I strongly wish Amerca never gives it up.

opinion wrmead Lift India’s long term growth rate? Wasn’t it very good until recently?

opinion wrmead Yeah, a super democratic India with Muslim friendly Modi🙄

opinion wrmead So, US figured out a way to deal with India’s caste, religion, sexism, water and overpopulation crises? There is also the pesky Himalayas in the way...India being surrounded by Chinese allies...Hindu nationalism... We should just help India develop without political agendas❤️

opinion wrmead Keep in mind that the left leaning political parties and the Islamic parties are not friendly to USA to put mildly. So if and when the current right wing government falls, much of the progress in bilateral relationship might even be reversed.

opinion wrmead Let’s not do this “new Cold War” bullshit

opinion wrmead Ally? Or proxy country?

opinion wrmead How much money did India pay Walter Russell mead to write this crap? cheaper than lobbyists?

opinion wrmead India has huge resources and a massive population. Their biggest problem is corruption and bureaucracy and those problems can not be solved by the US. The US needs to focus on itself.

opinion wrmead what does a bus getting crushed by a tree have to do with this?

opinion wrmead thats pretty callous lead when talking about a country of 1.3 billion people but I agree with the general point I guess
