Opinion | Peshe Kuriloff: Aging in place: How the coronavirus made us feel old overnight. - NBCNewsTHINK

We thought he was overreacting, but more than that, we thought he was presuming a lot.

Suddenly, all that changed. From one day to the next, our self-image shifted and we began to feel vulnerable, to realize our lives might truly be at risk. There were stories in the newspapers about all the elderly people who were dying — people who were our age, not just people in their 90s. It turned out that a lot of those people lived in nursing homes, and for a couple of weeks we once again felt more optimistic.

We get the message that we’ve had our chance and must now surrender to other social priorities; yet we feel entitled to more than that. Maybe not entitled to preference, but to a fair shot at a longer life, more time to complete unfinished projects, to pass on what we’ve learned. But it feels like nobody shares our point of view.

U.S. CDC reports 217,918 total deaths from coronavirusThe U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Saturday reported 8,028,332 cases of the new coronavirus, an increase of 70,078 from its previous count, and said the number of deaths had risen by 1,001 to 217,918. All because of TRUMPS FAILURES. Sorry, but skeptical of the CDC numbers. They incentivized Covid for hospitals. It was beneficial to them to mark every death as being due to covid. If the China virus is spreading so fast now why is the death rate slowing down to a crawl? When's the last time you heard anyone even mention ventilators?

COVID-19 testing capacity outpacing desire to get swabbedThe Trump administration says more than 120 million tests will be available in October nationwide, but far fewer Americans are actually being tested. ABC, Ok... Trumps Administration’s only produces information on PROCUREMENT! Where is Donald’s National PLAN OF ACTION for successfully addressing the COVID19 Pandemic Crisis like other world leaders have? An example would Jacinda Ardern's successful plan on how she defeated it! I work in a nursing home and we get tested every week. It doesn’t hurt either. Because they aren’t doing it right. There’s no strategy and no plan. None.
