Photo: Courtesy of Coach For its Spring 2020 show, Coach left the prairie and traveled to ’80s New York. That meant a New Wave color palette, of course, but the brand also sprinkled in paintings by artist Richard Bernstein throughout the collection on clothes and accessories.
Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, Bernstein worked alongside Andy Warhol, painting celebrities like Cher and Grace Jones for the covers of Interview magazine. His portfolio is massive, but Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers chose to feature his childhood idols: Michael J. Fox, Rob Lowe, and Barbra Streisand.
Which is good news for anyone who would like to wear Barbra Streisand’s painted face on a sweatshirt. The collaboration pieces retail from $95 to $225 for tops and $150 to $450 for bags. Post a photo of yourself in one, and maybe, just maybe, Streisand herself will comment, “Love this! Nice to see you wearing my face!” like she did on J.Lo’s Instagram.
