Since then, Cornell researchers, students and professors have teamed up with community members to create about 400 face shields. Kuceyeski delivered that first pallet of 3D-printed protective gear to two health care facilities Friday. The group's first shipment contained a mix of headband-like clips that health care workers attach a plastic shield to, and thehemselves.
"When I get scared, I want to do something about it," said Kuceyeski."And I think that's the general tone of people that are approaching us and wanting to join this movement is that they want to do something to help, whether it's two or three visors, or if it's 400." It took about 50 people and 100 printers a few days to meet their quota, but the group aims to amp up production to 500 to 1,000 face shields a day.
Thanks for tweeting this important story.
I’ve been wondering why we hadn’t been doing that?
A team in Seattle has created an NIH clinically reviewed and recommended 3D printable PPE face shield design that's available for free for anyone to print.
Someone should compile every article like this for when Trump tries to take any credit for anything that was even remotely helpful at the end of all if this. Then the list will be ready to show it was everyone and everything but.
Yes plz
Courageous but sad at same time. The wealthiest industry country who invented the mass production has lost ability of mass production and have to resort to artisanal singularities.

Florida has 19 drive thru test sites. How many does your state have? drivethrutestsites We should of ALL been doing this since January. ALL states. Country should of been closed down with drive through tests like South Korea did
Other cool stuff!!

How can I get information to find out if our 3D printers have the capacity and what we would need to do this?
Our local high school is doing this! Go CP! school_crown
FIU FIUCarta
My licalmlibrary and high school have these machines..... sending this over to them
Are shields such a critical equipment? I think N95 respirators and gloves are the most important medical supplies right now.
LudHabada Jeff Miller is doing this!
Americans are inventive and resourceful.
Go Cornell!!!!
Awesome 💙👊🏽✊🏽
Yes! I did have that idea in my head 10 days ago, but didn’t have the means to make it happen.
Every similar organization with that capacity must do this in every state.
david_hemond All right America, I love ya, I love the well-educated, don't you?
hannah_hagemann Great story! maker_nexus is also producing thousands of shields in Sunnyvale, CA. There's an updated, M.D.-approved design on their Wiki, and instructions for mailing printed bands if anyone reading this has a printer and wants to pitch in to help.
👏👏💪💪👏👏💪💪
This is great, but if there were a federally led co-ordinated supply chain, it would ensure delivery to a larger population.
Cornell.
What a failure by the regime in the Whitehouse, that this is even necessary.
Great news! Keep it up CornellUnivers engineers! COVID19
