'Rich Men North of Virginia' singer Oliver Anthony said the blue-collar anthem is a song for people around the world in his first on-camera interview.

Correspondent Griff Jenkins caught up with the singer-songwriter to discuss the inspiration behind his music.

"They don't have to be blue-collar Americans. I mean I've gotten messages from people in countries that I don't know how to pronounce. This is something that has touched people globally and there's a reason for that," he said. The breakout small-town singer-songwriter performed for an estimated 4,000 people who arrived at the Eagle Creek Golf Club & Grill in Moyock, North Carolina, on August 19 for the free show.The song gained internet fame this month after YouTube channel Radio WV shared Anthony's passionate performance on their channel.
