Ohio State fires baseball coach Greg Beals after 12 seasons with the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes parted ways with Beals after 12 seasons in Columbus, the athletic department announced Monday. He had one year remaining on his contract. In a dozen years at OSU, Beals finished with a 346-288-1 record overall and a 141-139 mark in Big Ten play. Beals led OSU to three NCAA tournament appearances in 2016, 2018 and 2019 and won the Big Ten tournament in 2016 and 2019.

His firing comes after Ohio State finished 12th in the Big Ten this past season with a 8-14 conference record , only finishing ahead of Minnesota and Michigan State. Beals’ best season came in 2016, when OSU finished 44-20-1. But the Buckeyes never made it past the regional round of the NCAA Tournament with Beals at the helm.

Look at PBROhioScout recruiting rankings in Ohio the last 2 years. Can’t keep in state talent.

Thank you

This may be good or bad. They will either win or lose their next game.😏

Buckeye baseball fans our wishes have been granted! Be ready for a WINNING coach & team next year i guarantee it! Gobucks

Hire nick swisher

Wish they would of got rid of basketball coach instead of giving him an extension.

Ohio State should be in the Super Regionals every year.

Nick Swisher time !!!!!

Bealsy was always first class! Gene Smith needs to make a run at Cliff Godwin or Andrew Checketts.

Had to be done.

When he started losing recruiting battles to Kent State and UC you knew that was the beginning of the end for Beals. That can’t happen at OSU.

About time. If I don’t perform at my job for 6 months I get fired, let alone twelve years. I hope the university will invest some money on a great staff….

Hard to recruit to the Midwest? Ask Michigan, they seemed to figure out a path toward consistency.

2 more Big Ten tournament titles than Holtzman who was just re-signed.

Doesn't upset me, judging by the results. Should be better

12 years no regular season titles not good enough. Went to three regional and won 2 games in those regionals

Fatherhood Driving Jerron Cage to Finish Career Strong in Sixth Year at Ohio StateJerron Cage returned to Ohio State for a sixth year with the goal of improving his NFL draft stock so he can provide for his son Jerron Jr., who he calls “the light” of his life. “I feel like a grandpa.” 🤣😂😂🤣 this is one of the reasons I love our Buckeyes. They’re funny guys. We seem to really try to bring in good dudes. They may not all be flashy, and in the news all the time, but they’re good dudes. That’s where it’s built from, good dudes. As long as we get to see him pick up another fumble and return it for a TD like last season, I'm all for him returning!!

Really thought this was the year… top 3 seeds all went down. OSU swept the other 3 teams in the regular season. Beat Kentucky every year. Bummer another year, another disappointing finish Thought this was the year, we win it all. Great year none the less!
