Stone Foltz, 20, a sophomore at Bowling Green State University and a new member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, was allegedly hazed during an initiation event where he was made to drink alcohol, school officials said.Foltz was taken to the hospital after the alleged incident, and remains there as of Sunday.
“Stone Foltz is still with us at this time and he is surrounded by his family,” Sean Alto, the family’s attorney, said in a statement. “Despite their unbearable grief, they are currently working through the organ donation process so that others may have a second chance at life.” In the wake of the incident, Bowling Green State University placed the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity on interim suspension Friday as it investigates. On Saturday, the school said it was temporarily"suspending all new member intake processes and on- and off-campus social events” for Greek fraternity and sorority organizations.
Pi Kappa Alpha’s national office said it placed the Bowling Green chapter on administrative suspension and advised its leader to cooperate with law enforcement.toward illegal activity, substance abuse, bullying, and hazing of any kind,” it said in a statement.

What's a matter with the so-called adults overseeing these fraternity's? Those adults overseeing these fraternity's need to make sure these things are not allowed in the fraternity's. There ought to be very strong punishment for those who are doing these things, period!

I am so sorry. At 19 he was just trying to fit in. Alcohol abuse has always been an issue on college campuses. I graduated college in 1981 and to this day, this problem has not been properly addressed.

I know some people believe fraternities offer familial bonds that can last... but when things like this happen, and CONTINUE to happen, it just proves that they aren't being governed properly, or harshly enough. We need an office in every college to control this behaviour.

My heart breaks for his family. I had a talk with my teen about how much alcohol she could physically handle if she were to drink at a party. It's important to talk to your teens but I know it doesn't always work. So sad 💔

My 20 yr old is pledging this semester. While I’m certain that he knows his limits and when to bail, I’m well aware that it only takes one a-hole upperclassman to push too far. Frats and hazing were banned from my school, and I’m tighter with my college crew than any frat bros.
How tragic! 😢 I cannot even imagine what his family is going through. When will this barbaric practice of hazing end? I feel like there are stories like this every year.
And the national organisation of the fraternity in question will soon issue comment on this ‘sad, isolated incident’ that is most definitely not occurring at other chapters.

Heavy drinking during college should not be the norm and accepted behavior. Many an alcoholic began his or her downward spiral “ just drinking like every other kid”. Parents, educators and students need to be educated on the possible consequences of college drinking.
