Obama Tells Young Activists To Seize George Floyd Momentum, Get Involved In Local Government

Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday praised the efforts of young activists protesting the death of George Floyd and urged them to seize on their momentum by getting involved in local government.... [+]

He also lauded the diversity of the protests, which he said are a “more representative cross-section of America” compared to protest movements in the 1960s, and argued that majority national support for them in spite of incidents of violence “wouldn’t have existed 30, 40, 50 years ago.” He also pushed for protesters to get involved in democracy at the local level, pointing out that the reforms they’re pushing “has to take place in more than 19,000 local municipalities.”

Can someone tell those “Young Activists” how much are the Obama’s, the Clinton’s, the Pelosi’s, the Feinstein’s, the Cuomo’s worth? - one could only expect that as public servants fighting social and economic injustices they could not possibly be millionaires.

I love Obama but this is irresponsible. We are fortunate that, for now the secret of defense is not willing to deploy troops to halt protests. However, this is a tenuous time in America and risking a civil war isn’t worth it.
