'When [Republicans like] Lindsey Graham ... are calling in to the Secretary of State trying to basically recruit him to participate in a conspiracy to steal the election. This ain’t Scandal. This isn’t Defiance, Ohio. Are you kidding me?'

earlier this week, it was on the heels of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announcing that he was investigating the organization for potentially violating election laws when registering voters, as thereported. In her interview, Ufot blasted the investigation as “sad and desperate” and “ridiculous.”

As the head of one of several Black women leading voter organizations that helped turn Georgia blue, Ufot has been in the media a lot over the past month. During our chat, she addressed the investigation and talked about New Georgia Project’s focus on registering voters, especially residents who have turned 18 since the general election.. “That’s not gas, smoke, [or] hyperbole. I honestly believe that.

... are calling in to the Secretary of State trying to basically recruit him to participate in a conspiracy to steal the election. This ain’tWhen you look at what we are being accused of, it also makes you realize just how sad and desperate it is. The way that we do our work, at the core of New Georgia Project, is direct voter contact. We need to have high-quality — face-to-face, if we can — direct communication with the people that we register to vote.

The way we do that is with phone calls, text messages, and mail from time-to-time. With our postcard program, volunteers who live in other states request a batch of postcards, maybe ten at a time, and at their own expense agree to buy a stamp and then write a little handwritten note to a Georgia voter reminding them to turn out and vote. A volunteer in New York requested a batch of postcards. We sent it to them. [The blank postcards] obviously got to her neighbor or the wrong recipient.

Using voting rights organizations as a shield to protect yourself from the bullying from members of his own party is on-brand. I look forward to blasting their retraction when they finally stop this nonsense investigation.: You have a goal to register 10,000 voters ahead of the runoff. How many young people have you registered so far?I’m pretty sure we just crossed the 1,000 18-year-old voter threshold. When people were going to school in person, birthday parties were a big deal.

Black Voters Matter Fund, New Georgia Project and Rise, Inc. sue state over 'Voter Suppression Bill'A lawsuit filed against Georgia's 'Voter Suppression Bill' on Thursday alleges that it will impose 'unjustifiable burdens disproportionately on the State's minority, young, poor, and disabled citizens.' I'm not surprised by the lawsuit. The gop shouldn't have been surprised either. ▌019 Respectfully citizens registered to a state can't vote another different state. Not allowed at this moment. W/ regards to voterID, minorities do know how to register a driver's license, state id, & insurance; they also know how to ask, just like how white people can. ▌019 Eventually the black and minority communities are going to wake up and realize the democrats are the racists. They seem to think black and brown people are too stupid to do anything; get an ID, pass a test, do math, etc. They should be offended.
