Democrat Gary Chambers lit up Louisiana's Senate race with his viral campaign video — where he lights a blunt while advocating for legalizing marijuana. And if history is any indication, an eye-catching campaign ad can lead to big success.

A living legend, much love and respect from Ireland! 💚

Blunts are way cooler in campaign ads than fragile men and women gripping their guns

I love seeing a real person! Not some old fossil who’s inspired by greed.

Or prison time. Depends... but that's why he's running

I love this guy, and if I lived in Louisiana I'd vote for him.

Self indulgence is now the multum in parvo of American Politics? Confirmation that the Nation is clearly in the toilet. Because gettinghigh is such a -high- priority.

It will definitely be a lightning rod issue. Hope it gets people to the polls. I love that Nikki Fried shared the video claiming they would get along well.

Well, now expect the supply of weapons from Russia near the territory of the United States and opponents of the United States, as well as the colonial territory of Great Britain, and an open hunt for NATO members, they wanted to provoke, you provoked, think about what awaits you.

Being a child during the 80's in all its DARE hysteria, the first thing to leap to mind when seeing that add was 'aren't the cops going to come and arrest him?'.

I mean - I prefer someone smoking some weed over some inbred imbecile blowing up a car.

Marijuana and the federal government is the clearest measure of institutional racism. If they legalize it - it will be to implement additional control measures, and make money.

I think this guy is going to do great.

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesThey aren't about making it easier...they are about removing and reducing barriers that intentionally make it more difficult for some to vote and ensure that the People's vote isn't thrown out in favor of a dictatorship like party! In light of today's Senate debate/vote on ability to debate voting rights, and the fight between SenSchumer and LeaderMcConnell over who'll destroy America & democracy first, I ask again... They are both BS! We don’t want Nationally controlled elections!

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesGreat read & assessment of successes and challenges. Vax hesitancy and research expansion are definitely crucial. But when the US_FDA refuses and delays approval of WHO supported universal inactive vax (COVAXIN_USA ) from receiving EUA for 2 & up, it further increases mistrust I appreciate this but does NPR have any self awareness of the difference in the objective calm way you’re covering this disaster vs the breathless “there’s no good news” coverage of the last admin’s Covid response? Again, if your reporting is not telling people about the extensive GOP propaganda focused on diverting as many people away from science-based mitigation, this is an incomplete assessment. And one item no plan could address.
