You only need a union if you have a highly specialized job like teacher, pipefitter, iron worker ect. Unskilled warehouse workers are a dime a dozen.
I managed a plant where the workforce was represented by the Grain Millers Union, always felt sorry for the employees, it was like herding cats, no consensus, poor representation, at one point they worked without a contact for six years
