LifeKit The fervor with which white liberals flee diversity makes it hard for them to get to know anyone.

LifeKit If people are even thinking about “who belongs” in their neighborhood, they clearly are neither kind nor caring. They’re bigoted.

LifeKit My neighbors are flying a trump 2024 flag and displaying racist statues on their front porch. Thinking I will not be friends with racists. I actually know them though. I actually want to move to Canada 🇨🇦

LifeKit Don’t know where those complaining about there neighbors live. But I’ve mostly have had great neighbors. Many I still know today after moving away over 30 years ago. My new neighborhood is fricken awesome. Diverse, friendly, caring people who want to live together.

LifeKit 'An inclusive definition of who belongs'

LifeKit Why would I care who my neighbors are?

LifeKit That whole ‘who belongs in the neighborhood’ thing didn’t work out too well for AhmaudArbery Those racist neighbors still wouldn’t work with a more ‘inclusive definition’ Even after conspiring to kill a man.

LifeKit I don't.

LifeKit Does that include the random homeless people that come and go on my block?

LifeKit While I don't disagree with this article, getting to know your neighbors is pretty much impossible, even useless in some situations. Living in a large city with rental properties on either side, our neighbors usually change every year. Not much point with transient neighbors.

LifeKit dunno. in my old neighborhood, we lived in rowhomes. you got to know them whether you wanted to or not, and it was a mixed bag. i have no doubt plenty of ppl had a variety of opinions about me too. my current neighbor stopped talking to me after i put up a progress pride flag.

LifeKit I became friends with a neighbor who seemed nice but then I found out she’s a compulsive liar with munchhausen by proxy (her poor kids) who pulled charity scams. I secretly reported her and yet she didn’t get in trouble. I gave up meeting my neighbors after that bad experience.

LifeKit I know enough about my N Phoenix fascist gun hoarding neighbors. I can't stand the sight of them, and keep my distance whenever I can. And I do know their names.

LifeKit It's true that we live in a time of unparalleled alienation, but introducing the ideological construct of 'inclusivity' into the solution only further depersonalizes our environments, replacing authentic relationships with heavily mediated, moralistic abstractions.

LifeKit nice

LifeKit I blame air conditioning partly. No more hanging on the porch in the summer heat.

I am so relieved that people are not so quick to say anything negative about this situation. It is not that difficult to learn your neighbors name. All you need to do is spend time with them and see what they think about your football.
