So just let it run rampant through our communities destroying lives by the thousands including those of the people you claim to protect BTW get vaxxed or we won't let you have a job or life because there's a pandemic
The real issue is that fentanyl is used to “cut” other drugs, and the dealer/distributor is using it to pad their bottom line. Doesn’t work out so well when it kills your clientele…
Since the death rate is so high for illegal sales of fentanyl, the charges should be murder, at least. Stupid greedy dealing is no excuse for no charges.

I am absolutely against the 'war on drugs'. If drugs were legal, fentanyl probably wouldn't be much of a problem. Actually, drugs wouldn't be much of a problem. Also, not interested in testomonials of those who have lost loved ones to drugs. I have known plenty.
Decriminalize all drugs. This allows people to get the help they need if they DO overdose by making them unafraid to call for help. We have examples this works, including Portugal. The war on drugs was manufactured by Reagan to further racism. It is outdated and harmful

Minor possession and use should be treated as a civil infraction and TREATMENT should be provided (yes, free treatment for drug addicts). Distribution and illegal prescribing rings should carry stiffer penalties. The doctors and dealers are the source of the problem.

Increasing criminal penalties for drug offenses has *NEVER* worked. Decriminalize the process and treat addicts like patients instead of criminals.
I think if it was the previous administration doing this you would have reacted in the opposite direction and been in favor of the action.

Good to see someone taking action. I personally know three people that have died from Fentanyl in the past year. It is driving up addiction rates and swelling homeless populations across the county. 72% of overdose deaths in SF (519/712 in 2020) are attributed to this drug.
