“Controversial but proven” here meaning a bunch of people want to put their own political and moral ideas ahead of the state’s well-being.

This is just a way to keep those people on drugs. California is a lost cause.

Great report! Makes sense psychologically.

williamhu43 I am sure they will use those payments to pay for their Meth and Cocaine!

Seriously? A bribe? Yeah, that should work.

How do we collect?

Shoot I'm due 31 years of back pay

Oh for fucks sake, California is such an awful place.

Oooof.

So…if you have no money for meth, just tell somebody in government and they’ll give you some money for your next hit.

I haven’t used meth or coke for...hmmm let’s see ... my entire life- too busy getting an education and working to pay taxes for this kind of BS I guess. So when’s my payout? Why does it seem lately like it is always the lowest common denominator that gets rewarded?

Proven to last about 6 months after payout ends.

It it works more power to em …because meth is the absolute devil of a drug. Extremely addicting.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion. Monetary incentives are a good way to show someone you care. Which is why giving to panhandlers is always about more than the money you give them. It's hope.

We are no longer a serious country

'the most effective treatment for ' link didn't work for me in Chrome or Edge

thanks

If it's proven effective, what's controversial about it?

lol - this pretty much sums up how F'd up our country and citizenry have become. Instead of facing harsh consequences to make changes in one's life, we instead baby them, coddle them, and give them free stuff.

They have such a homeless drug issue, sounds like a good solution to help both.

NPR Cookie Consent and ChoicesGee, I wonder why... Not surprised at all. Agencies and facilities charge families of the elderly SO MUCH to “provide” care but the people that’s actually providing care barely gets shit. How do you charge a family $50/hr and pay the one thats mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted $14/hr Homehealth aides are not just for the elderly. People of any age have a disabilities that requires in-home care. CNAs need better pay, more time off and their job given the respect it deserves. The good CNA's help their clients live full lives while treating them with dignity
