I worked in a nursing home when I was 18. I loved the old people but that place was awful. Tying people down. Plus the regimented way they made them live. If it’s still like that it’s time for a redo. No one should live their last years so sadly.

50linesonly Because we don’t respect the “unproductive” in this ToxicColonizerCULTURE or our Workers! CrazyElitism The WHO has rated the USA DEAD LAST in Healthcare out of 71 Developed Nations. Tuff 2 report Real news w/ Corp. Sponsors, huh? Viva La Revolution!

BeaHero How’s that going to happen? CMSGov medicarepayment the policy machine is entrenched. It’s crafters are focused on profit modeling not the humanity. What now? It’s pretty clandestine to be blunt.

I've interviewed a lot of people coming from that background, and I was shocked how little aides are valued in that industry. It carries the same emotional toll that drives people out of nursing and other medical fields, at a fraction of the pay.

Absolutely they are needed and they NEED to be paid fairly for their hard dedicated and endless work!! Taking care of humans is essential!! nursesaidesmatter paythepeople livingwagesmatyrt

The problem is young people do not want to take care of old people and that sentiment will not go away

It's shit like the uber-intrusive EVV certification which is now a federal requirement for home health aides is exactly why we are seeing declines like this. Yes fraud and abuse exist, but to treat everyone as a criminal is absurd.

They are grossly underpaid and in order to get good care, you have to be willing to pay more.

This is a worldwide issue, no gov can afford spending money on non-productive people.

CNAs & HHA are so low paid!

When the business model in this country is over burdening and understaffing? Maximum profit, minimal service? If we were a civilized country we would have had universal healthcare years ago.

We're gonna need a lot more immigrants. Haiti, you in?

Homehealth aides are not just for the elderly. People of any age have a disabilities that requires in-home care. CNAs need better pay, more time off and their job given the respect it deserves. The good CNA's help their clients live full lives while treating them with dignity

Not surprised at all. Agencies and facilities charge families of the elderly SO MUCH to “provide” care but the people that’s actually providing care barely gets shit. How do you charge a family $50/hr and pay the one thats mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted $14/hr

Gee, I wonder why...
