Shill bidding is a big problem in the collectables community and has been a big problem in Pokémon for a while now. The oreos being sold at thousands were most likely shill bidding. Id suggest talking to an expert collector like LeonhartYT to get a better picture of the story

They're not selling for thousands of dollars. These are shill bid auctions designed to drive up the price. Actual retail for the Mew cookie is around $10, which is obviously still ridiculous. Do your research, NPR.
