I read the book, and it was an excellent narrative. I’m a Gen Xer and this program was an integral part of our youth. The book very clearly lays out that there were earlier shows which they built on, so no one should feel that their favorite children’s show is being slighted.
Righties always hated Sesame Street because it taught virtues like 'cooperation' and other communist acts of aggression.
It wasn’t radical by any means or measure. It was great creativity and wonderful imagination by taking a long existing idea and use of puppets to a new idea of expression. Seems you like to use the term “radical” to insinuate that it went against convention.
