An investigation in to why power outage and rolling blackouts are necessary is worthwhile but first work with ERCOT to provide all necessary resources to restore power to all Texans ASAP. Rolling power outages are normal when there is demand & capacity mismatch.
The governor probably fired the engineers that showed them the winterized system would serve the state safely. Now they'll fire the ones they replaced them with. Voters should fire the governor who ignored the warnings of bad winters' havoc.

In a capitalistic world, there is a trade offs; profit or safety? To ensure the power grid would survive a 100 year event without disruption would have cut into profits. I guess you get what you pay for, not unlike California power grid issues.

Many neighborhoods have been without power for almost two days except for 3 2 hour periods while some have not gone out at all. This is dangerous and irresponsible. The power companies shouldn’t be allowed to maximize billing profit and should have to pay for lodging.
GovAbbott Unacceptable not to have the necessary infrastructure to deliver full power to everyone in Texas. Sounds like theyve been getting by with the bare minimum. We've been hearing about conserving energy for the past 50 years or longer. Rolling blackouts is unacceptable.
