Restraint practices are used on students who are a danger to themselves or others. Often, these students have severe disabilities and are extremely violent. As one who has had to restrain students, it is not the “go to” response to a tense situation.
The main reason my teacher friends moved to different careers, or retirement, was because they could no longer maintain control of the classrooms. Removing discipline in our schools caused degradation of education. Cell phones don’t help!!

There is so little respect for teachers here in the US. Other countries praise & respect the professions, not here. The MSM has led the narrative that teachers are bad, parents treat teachers as individual servants & administrators are only looking out for themselves.
All children are being held back because kids that don't want to be in school are forced to

The courts took discipline out of schools, teachers are indoctrinators and babysitters.
Really what about reasoning caring and love. Majority of teachers lack all three. Most need extensive training fault of states and feds not to provide.
Recently saw an young elementary student trashing the school office, throwing a computer to the floor, tables, chairs turned over. Teacher told me they are not allowed to touch or restrain. Clearly emotional issues, but what do you do?
It's true. At some point you have to consider the safety of others. One kid isn't more important than the whole.
