Researchers have found that people who live in U.S. neighborhoods once subjected to redlining are more likely to experience shorter life spans today — sometimes as much as 20 or 30 years shorter than other places in the same city.

Ok we’ve known this...when will we do something to make this not a fact going forward

Check This OUT Sister VickiDillard ... There Is Something Everywhere You Turn ...Black People Get Your 'Mind Right' Before It Is To Late

Correlation =\\= causation

No shit...

More studies like these will come out and yet Congress won’t even attempt to study how we could pay reparations ... at this point these reports are just gaslighting Black folk bc we been told y’all bout all this

Oh please. Lifestyle, nutrition and hereditary conditions and decent sanitation are what influence longevity.

Blaming black socio-economic and scholastic achievement deficits, higher violent criminality and a host of other ills on the white devils is not going to solve these problems. Correlation is not causation.

If ethnic group committed 25%more per-capita violent crime,it would be news.Or 50% more.But 600+% more?!? P.12,USDOJ Statistics:Blacks,12.7% US pop 2010,commit intentional homicide at per-capita rate 7.6 times=(52.5%/12.7%)/(47.5%/87.3%)rate non-Blacks.

These neighborhoods aren’t shitty bc of redlining. They drew red lines around the neighborhood because it was already shitty.

All that gunfire adds up

Woodrow Wilson was a bad president

NPR is run by terrorism

USA is a disgraceful place

I believe that's called oppression. Systemic oppression by the party of American white supremacists. Dead people can't vote. GOPDeathCult

My neighborhood sits on an old landfill. In the late 80s a new landfill was created 6 blocks away from my home. It caught fire and burned for 2 years straight! A lot of neighbors developed cancer and asthma including adult onset asthma. Redlining in cities is still happening!

Researchers have found that people exposed to your bullshit for an extended period of time are more likely to suffer from TDS and dementia than those who think for themselves.

sdbanville We spend a bit of time in SPHU3110 on redlining. I add in a great Politics and Prose interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates and Richard Rothstein. as preparation for the lecture. I suggest all public health students read 'The Color of Law.' See if you like it -

Bull phukin 💩

Feels like researchers have already known this for a while? At least sociologists and anyone living in a segregated city do

Cue the snowflakes and their Whataboutism.

Correlation. Causality. Different Venn diagrams.

BOOM 💥 Pennsylvania state legislature withdrew the Article II resolution to appoint electoral college delegates after a fraudulent election.♧♧

Very interesting. Data supporting the impact of prior discrimination in today’s inequality. Consistent with the speech of many who fought for racial equality for centuries. .

Pigs. Evil hateful animals.

is more complicated than shitty NPR wants us to believe

_marymason Zersetzung is the proper term for this shit.

Are we supposed to be surprised? Lock people into poor living conditions and their health is affected.

Frying Mother's oats in grease districts

Because they always relegated or confined minority/low SES neighborhoods near toxic chemical plants/oil refineries/dumping grounds, etc. So horrific. So many wrongs.

DemocracyAnew Gee, wonder if it's because they don't have access to good nutritional options, organics, and other health & wellness sources (sarcasm, that's most def part of the equation).

Outlawed in the 70’s.

Oh please

Many of those neighborhoods, as we know, have contaminated soil.

That’s no surprise. Leaders of American industry and banking have excelled at destroying “undesirable” communities and people. At home and abroad. It sounds terrible, but it’s the truth. Nobody moves until the money says so.

Maybe zip codes are used by Europeans to target Americans for Fauci Underlying conditions like environmental dumping, medical and social experiments, economic sanctions, social imprisonment, lack of quality of life and the other European means of genocide to steal assets.

Sounds like time to move.

Clown parade reasoning. And 20-30 years is a stat only if you get shot or overdose, which is not at all relevant to your suggestive silliness.

If you factor murder out of the statistics, what's the disparity then?

Probably because they eat like shit.

Nothing surprising about this. America is racist AF. We need systemic change. We need serious policy change, training and education. Do better, America.

Systemic racism is unconscionable. We have the power and moral obligation to change.

gangs, drugs and single motherhood are all issues. especially in dem run cities.

Congratulations to President Trump on your second term

This is is part of the structure of the racial wealth gap.

Notice it’s in Democrat ran cities?

90% of news about covid and trump

Jane Fonda called the COVID-19 pandemic 'God's gift to the Left.' that tells the opportunism of the Democratic Party. Do they care about the 200K+ Americans, or do they consider these unfortunate victims to be props to use in the anti-Trump drama they subject us to day after day?

Maybe there's a simpler explanation than racism. One that we all know, but can't say.
