In this photo provided by Jason Koski and Cornell University, Bryan Maley, right, a grad student in the Master of Public Health program, interviews a student on campus about mask-wearing experiences as part of a public health survey, Friday, July 30, 2020, in Ithaca, N.Y.
No kidding. Administrators warn that failure to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid mass gatherings could bring serious consequences, including getting booted from school. Tulane students have already received a stark warning from the school in New Orleans, an early pandemic hot spot. After a summer weekend of large gatherings, Dean of Students Erica Woodley wrote to students,“DO NOT HOST PARTIES OR GATHERINGS WITH MORE THAN 15 PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE HOST.
Many universities have spelled out expectations for student behavior in pledges and compacts that cover everything from mask wearing to off-campus travel. The pledges often cover faculty and staff, too.
Lol
No keg parties. Good one.
That sounds less like promised and more like threats. Lol
They couldn't even stop their undergraduates from underage drinking at keg parties with its being literally against the law, even under normal circumstances, and now they're expecting that the same kids will suddenly start making good decisions?
Well that’s good news because we all know they haven’t been gathering in groups with friends and working public facing service jobs all summer.
You mean just stay in and study? Wow, what a concept.
You lost me at “no keg parties”
Just do a road trip kegger peaceful protest!
Do you even know who the people are that go to these parties? They don't care.
lol ok
Good luck with that.
Hahaha that should be so easy to enforce
You mean they are going to just study? Aaaahhh!!
Sounds like the waterbury open...see you there👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
CU hasn’t even started and I’ve already seen and heard backyard parties, beer pong, keggers in my neighborhood with no physical distancing or masks. Who are they kidding?
That crusty old dean must be grinning ear to ear.
They’ll get over it
Scamdemic
What's the purpose of physically going to college then? Online courses or nothing if this is the case.
so.... they want college to be a very expensive daycare center?
Never gonna happen.
Colleges and universities can pound sand for the indoctrination of the kids they're guilty of. That goes for MSM/Democrats including you.
Good luck with that.
Most college students are under the legal drinking age of 21 so I don't see this as being a problem at all.
Are there colleges that permit keg parties?
Seems likely to work
Kids don't listen even when there's imminent danger, why would they listen when the danger is negligible?
Do these colleges know who they're asking this of? How delusional.
Winter spike coming soon.
Yeah, good luck with that
This is not going to happen
Yeah, good luck with that! The kids are already finding ways around that.
Unless colleges make significant cuts to tuition every fucking student in America should take the year off!
Toga! toga! toga!
BillBarrowAP Sure...
🤣😂
No excuses for that 4.0 then... 👀
Lol shut up, don’t care
...'and they all rolled over and one fell out'...somebody - quick!...start a board on how long these last!...I'll buy a square!...
No road trips?
Ha-ha! There's two types of college students, those who've broken those rules already and those who will do so shortly.
'The horror. The horror...' --Col. Walter E. Kurtz
Just call it a keg party protest. Problem solved.
This is the only incentive to go to college. Degrees are completely worthless & the one thing that is of worth, you want to take away.
Did a 5 yo write this ?
You can not contain a virus - so you can eff all the way off.
😂😂
Good thing Covid is dramatically less virulent in their demographic.
But they don't have 'Keg Parties' they're having protests against sobriety. C'mon man. (as joe biden would say)
Screw that.
alexa, play fight for your right by beastie boys
Sooooo high school...
Ha ha ha. That's hilarious.
Colleges can go to hell with these promises
Good luck
Why are they going again? Just stay home, do on-line, save a sh*t load of money, spend Summer on the Mediterranean.
Good luck with that
It did not work in animal house.
Yeah. Those things will happen.😏
JoshMankiewicz PFFFFFFFFT
Or commute if you can. Use the dorm money to buy a car which you can keep and resell. ( I know not everyone can do this, but if you only have to be at school 2-3 days a week, a longer commute could be an acceptable option.)
If you only ask it's just a suggestion. Most people are doing the right thing. But we've proven that we have an overwhelming number of folks that lack any level of accountability.
Yeah right lol
lmao have any of the people making these ‘promises’ ever been to a college
Those were the same promises I made to my parents in the fall of 1980.
Good luck with that; the lil’ bastards will never give up their keg parties. It’s step 1 in the “Finding Yourself” process.
There is approximately zero chance of that happening.
It’s all bollocks! Go out enjoy the sunshine and live your life!!
When I was in college I promise my parents I wouldn't drink, that i would attend every class, that I would have sex, and that I would graduate. I kept my promise, I graduated.
Lol..sure. like when work asked if I'd be I'll in the last 14 days.
Yes, but they are allowed to protest and riot for their “woke” causes. I get the precautions, but at least be consistent.
DAILY COST FOR A PRISONER : $115 DAILY COST FOR A STUDENT : $ 40 MAKE SCHOOLS ACCESSIBLE ALL ROUND YEAR & FOR ALL AUDIENCES American Congress estimates the amount of PUBLIC MONEY stolen by TAX EVASION in USA at $ 5ooo BILLION/year TAX EVASION is CRIMINAL
So why bother even going to college then?
Oh sure 'we promise'. lmfao
Why Sweden, pilloried by the whole world for refusing to lock down - with schools staying open and no face mask laws - may be having the last laugh as experts say Stockholm is close to achieving herd immunity
They’re already breaking them.
Sweden is the team that everyone loves to hate to distract from its own failures... “If Sweden is not seen to suffer for its failure to lock down its population and close down much of its economy then it could pose awkward questions for other countries.”
Oh wow, whatever will the UNCW students do if they can't get shitfaced drunk downtown?
You can’t read this tweet and not laugh
No Jeffers? Fuuuck that!
And you pay them 70k!
And you seriously believe they will follow these rules ? Umm . . .
Does anybody learn anything at these places ? U.S. college’s need to step up enforcement and a higher standard of learning if we are to take on the likes of China,Europe and Canada in the future ! It’s not supposed to be a country club,it’s University ! 🙄
Good luck with that!
Willkommen to the United Police State of Amerika.
All of these are gonna happen
Oh this shouldn’t be a problem at all. I’m sure they’ll promise to stay abstinent as well.
Looks like we're going to have a pretty ridiculous generation in about 5 years bc those promises will be taken as a suggestion only
And all the little children will follow these rules perfectly.
Problem solved!
Nothing to distract you from the mind numbing Marxist indoctrination
Never gonna happen
Good luck with that.
ProfCiara They’re on crack.
The keg parties never stopped so that’s a big no never happening
College recruiting takes a big hit
Good luck.
In the end, few of them will want to be the chump who follows the rules while everyone else has fun, and this will go pretty poorly. The good news is their demographic has a good survival rate. The bad news is they will spread it in the host communities.
They are being conditioned to accept the loss of even more freedoms while calling those resisting selfish.
Fuck that.
So they will actually study and learn something then? Hmmmm.... what a concept!
So all the work, anxiety and expense with none of the fun
NO FUN!!! Fun is now illegal!!! No laughing, smiling, socializing. Just order from uber eats and watch porn until you die!
How do people put up with this BS?
Strip away all the fun so you can pay 40k to listen to a bisexual in sandals tell you 1,000 different ways to hate white people. Love that. College is so tight
good luck with that
my son will be a senior and my daughter is going to be a freshman.. they both seem to be on board, as do their friends. my daughter's school in rhode island seems a little stricter than my son's in new york
How about lowering your tuition?
You can set an egg timer for how long that is going to last- have you seen what’s happening this summer?
How about no professors then kids would have a chance to be deprogrammed?
Don't hold your breath.
Oh well if they ask nicely I'm sure that will work
College students are obviously enjoying the pandemic and want it to go on and on, and on...
Nobody can control what kind of parties an adult throws. Unless it's a tryanny. Nobody can tell anyone how far to drive. Unless it's a tyranny. Nobody can restrict guests from visiting family on campus. Unless it's a tyrannical left wing corrupt arm of the Democrats. FKthat.
We dodged that bullet. 🤣
Wyoming is wide open, with few cases. But about 20% of the universities students have chosen to defer their return Lots of jobs and university seats available. Schools are open; Fall is the slow tourist season; plenty of (pricey) rental housing available in tourist towns
All of those will be broken the first weekend if they are on campus.
'asking' lol except it's not funny cuz people will die
Haha good luck with that
College students
We Marines toured Budweiser, we got lit. The employees said the college students made us look like silly. They partied way harder. I told the employee to look across the room at the Major. Major will come down on us like a ton of bricks. Simple, apply consequences or else
Literally 3 of the top 5 reasons kids encourage their parents to pay the extra $ and let them go away. 😂
Good luck on stopping them from coordinating their meet-ups (the more the merrier) where they’ll be drinking, smoking and doing everything else ppl that age do.
Never underestimate the creativity and ingenuity of college kids. Y’all don’t remember your work arounds for various rules and booze in dorms
Promises LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOL
Are one night stands still cool?
Because you can take the word of a freshman at college!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna happen. What about the students who live off campus? What about the students who havea jobthat requires them to work off campus? What about the athletes?
Puh-lease! College kids are the most reckless demographic. Their promises won't mean squat.
Phayd2Blaque Parents who have left kids for a brief vacation know the answer.
College without kegers ?
Students should consider South Dakota colleges. The state is open and 'Back to Normal', says Governor govkristinoem FightBack & WIN
This will last 10 days
Yeah good luck with that 🤣😂
Yeah, sure, that’s perfectly reasonable to request but abjectly ludicrous to expect compliance..!
Yeah, that ain't happening.
This isn’t condemned by Democrats, but going to school is? Cool...
If pro sports teams cannot contain COVID unless players live in a bubble with access to rapid testing, how likely will colleges be successful?
Goodluck with that
So naive
So non-keg parties are OK? Loopholes, be found.
They will sound convincing about the parties bit - plenty of practice with mom & pop
Sorry, I couldn’t give up my road trips! Good thing I already graduated a bazillon yrs ago
No parties? OK we will stay in our rooms and do drugs, and develop personality disorders - that should stop COVID
No keg parties?!
🙄🙄
