New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy at WBGO Studios in Newark on August 30th, for "Ask Governor Murphy"New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy at WBGO Studios in Newark on August 30th, for "Ask Governor Murphy"“Ask Governor Murphy” — your chance to present questions to New Jersey’s governor live, on-air — returns Tuesday, September 27th.

George Norcross at an event in Camden recently to announce a $2 billion expansion of the city’s main hospital“I have to give a huge shout-out to [Cooper University Hospital] Chairman George Norcross for everything he has done with Cooper over the years — and more broadly for Camden and South Jersey,” Murphy said at the event.

When Murphy took office in 2018, he took aim at Norcross and a bloated state tax break program that Norcross has benefitted from. The governor ordered an audit of the program and created an investigative task force. In Murphy's first State of the State address in 2019, he said New Jersey's comptroller couldn't prove the state got benefits anything like those it handed out.

Norcross ended up suing the Murphy administration, unsuccessfully, and the governor faced opposition to his agenda from his own party in the Legislature. The current governor rarely passes up an opportunity to blame his predecessor. In his remarks in Camden, Christie made a comment that was, in equal parts, congratulatory and critical of Murphy.

Former New Jersey Gov. Jim Florio dies at 85Former New Jersey Gov. Jim Florio, a Democrat whose infamous tax hikes in 1990 cost him a second term, but who is today often lauded for his achievements on gun control and the environment, died Sunday night. He was 85. RIP 😔 Oh yeah. Gun control in NJ was a huge success. Didn't know him as a Governor, but as a Congressman he was one of the most energetic public officials on behalf of public health, safety and accountability for dump and run polluters I ever saw. It's an intergenerational relay race, friends. RIP, Jim.

Understandable, I avoid speaking to fascists as well That is pitiful on the Governor’s part but not surprising. Gov. Newsom once again says he has no plans for a Presidential run in 2024Despite dramatically raising his national profile over the last few months, Gov. Gavin Newson has once again rejected the idea of running for the White House. Don’t believe him! It has always been his intention to run for President. He has huge wealthy backers in San Francisco who have been behind him from the beginning of his entry in to politics with that goal in mind. Unless of course he has changed his mind bc of family or illness. Of course he probably has no intention of running in 2024 but he definitely will try in the future. Always his goal apparently.
