Nike Inc. shares fell more than 3% in the extended session Thursday after the company missed consensus earnings estimates but beat revenue projections.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet had estimated 66 cents a share on revenue of $10.16 billion. For the first quarter, analysts expect adjusted earnings of 79 cents a share and sales of $10.64 billion. The trade war between the U.S. and China, and possibly other countries, has been a cause for concern for retailers and the groups that represent their interests, who have a voiced their worries to policymakers in Washington.
