Nike has sold out all of its Kobe Bryant-related merchandise from its online store, a Nike spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.
Searches for Bryant's products give users a landing page that includes a purple and yellow Nike gift card with the Los Angeles Lakers logo. Beyond the brisk sales online, Nike has also seen an increase of sales at its stores, a person familiar with details told USA TODAY Sports. The person requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the topic.
Additionally, Nike is re-evaluating ongoing strategy for its release of Bryant's signature shoe series in an attempt to limit reselling at an increased price,Bryant's sneakers, similar to the shoes of superstars Michael Jordan and LeBron James, are a favorite of current NBA players, with more than 100 wearing the shoes in games, according to ESPN. Nike had plans to release a new celebratory colorway of the Kobe 5 Protro on Feb. 7.
